Check out Stage 1
of my four foot minimalist tank stand. Ive put my ideas on
paper and come up with a really slick design for the tank stand.
I'm hoping to pick up the timber next weekend and get started.
I'll be regularly updating the progress so join up my facebook or
twitter page to get a message when I've updated these pages.
Also, Siaks busy finishing off his scape interview which I hope
to have up in a couple of weeks. I've also decided to streamline
the site a bit and have changed the way I'm going to do the guides
section.... I'm getting closer to being able to get the shop up and
running..don't hold your breath for this section, but who knows...
miracles can still happen. Catch ya later - Peet
At long
last we are back again... well almost.... I've finally managed to haul
my tank out of storage 2 years after moving back to New Zealand and am
about to embark on my minimalistic/ADA style white tank stand as shown
in the adjacent picture. I'll be providing in-depth details on
its construction and later on its scaping. I hope to have it
ready for the AGA 2011.... but the time frame is a bit tight for
growing in.... can't wait to get it going.
We also have an interview with Siak Wee Yeo from Little Green Corner
coming shortly. He won best of show and 1st place for medium
sized tanks in the AGA 2010.... should be some great inspiration for
scapers.
See ya back here soon - Cheers - Peet..
Big
thanks to Jason Baliban for his great interview of his AGA 2010
aquascape. Jasons offers some new insights into the world of
aquascape judging as well as tips on creating a breathtaking display
tank like his 3rd Rock -
Genesis.

The winners of
the AGA 2010 Aquatic Gardeners Association Aquascaping Contest have
been announced. This years line up is once again full of awe inspiring
aquascapes. I've already spent hours drooling over the tanks.
If
you haven't been there yet, make sure you check out Michael Wongs
winning tank . We hope to interview a number of scapers from the
contest and have their tanks in our Scapes section.

Check out
Michael Milliners "Discus Haven" 2009 AGA Aquascaping Contest entry.
This is my favourite tank and has me dreaming of plants and
discus everytime I look at it. Keep an eye out for Michaels rescape of
this tank coming to Lumersion in early 2011.

Well its
been a long time coming,
but at last I've managed to find the time to update the site. The first
of our plant guides is up and running and will hopefully provide some
detailed insight to growing Glossostigma in the planted aquarium.
Check it out here
At the moment I'm having untold problems with the Lumersion facebook
account, but hope to have access issues sorted out soon.

Hi all, this
year ADA is holding the
10th Annual International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest . There have
been over 8000 entries from 62 different countries since the
competition began.
ADA have contacted Lumersion directly
and advised that they have never received an entry from New Zealand and
would love to see a kiwi aquascape in this years event.
The
challenge is out....... is anyone game enough to enter their
aquascape and become the first kiwi in history to participate in this
prestigious event.
Entries close 31st May, which means
you'll need to get your act together. Follow the online
application links above to enter. Check out previous event
winners to see the kind of quality the ADA judges will be after.
I reckon we need to get a prize together for the first kiwi
entry. I'll have a look into this and post something soon.
